Whether its law or not, the discipline has been on the wane for weeks now anyway and after last nights announcement even though its supposed to be the 19th, I imagine even less people will be wearing them from today. I think someone touched on it earlier in the thread, quite a lot of people will decide whether they are wearing them or not depending on the situation, if someone goes into a train carriage and more than 50% of people aren't wearing one, most people I think wont bother.

of course he is, but its a calculated risk with economies teetering on brinks
Indeed and will be interesting how quickly the economy recovers but take some comfort in the fact that America and Australia for example have overall recovered well to date despite many sectors like hospitality , travel and tourism along with much of retail feeling the the pinch needing government hand outs to stay afloat.

We’ve to live with this and let's get on with the living bit -bollocks to Masks, and restrictions and the rest of it.

Brilliant - and who will look after the people getting ill if workers in the NHS are all off isolating!

We must learn to live with it, which also means we must learn new behaviours.

We still jump on and off planes, but nobody flies the way they used to prior to September 11.

Exactly. Big difference between learning to live with the virus and doing what the government are doing….which is basically pretending it doesn’t exist from 19th July.

28% freethinkers 64% bedwetters sums up this forum as a whole really

It’s interesting to see the heavily pro retain masks vote (I’m a No voter). I highly doubt this will be representative of wider society and I’d expect mask wearing to drop off very quickly once restrictions are lifted.

There will be a minority of people who will wear them for a while but those who are thinking ‘I might as well carry on with masks’ but aren’t particularly invested in it will soon stop as they see so many others not bothering.

I mean, I'm all for people to discontinue with masks if the laws say you can but it doesn't make you a free thinker just like those deciding to wear them in certain environments aren't bedwetters.
What is clear from your post is you are very much a bit of a dick.

I'd wager you and everyone else will have them all back on by mid October.

I agree.

What this government is doing is a good way to create new strains and have us back in restrictions before long.

Should just keep things as they are until the delta variant is under more control and the rest of Europe is doing as well as us with the vaccine, plus no new variants from there.

Always funny how those into conspiracy theories and those who go against established medical advice think they are free thinkers and truth seekers.

Any new restrictions will be totally useless once the kids are back in schools/colleges fully, pretty much like masks that did not stop the Virus hitting every part of the country twice, but then without gloves masks never stood a chance their only positive point is that it is the same as a tin hat in the blitz .

Established medical advice paid for by chemical companies, do you know what medical advice was for masks before covid?

We could all just stay indoors forever.
