Match of the Day - 2012/13

The thing about MOTD though is they (rightly) don't give a fuck about which teams in Europe are better than the rags, the dippers, West Brom, Southampton, Rochdale, Withington Red Lion as it's a fucking irrelevance. It's an English Premier League highlights package.

The key word here being English.

This English highlights package is then sold/broadcast around the world. Based on the fact the rags and the dippers are the world's two most popular English clubs, it's possibly understandable the show caters for such an audience.

You will never get objectivity, in any media, in the coverage of such a partizan sport as football. I think it a crying shame but objectivity does not sell newspapers, live football coverage or highlights packages.

He's get paid for that? The fucker's been stealing a living for 6 years now this. Lovely to see our licence fee being spent well on Hansen, Lawro and now that boring prick.
 
I think it's now hit Hansen that City can grind out a result. Shearer has been leaning this way for a while and is now totally converted

Yes I was pleasantly suprised at Hansens remark that we played like Champions,although not playing well (can`t argue one iota over that remark) we can now grind results out.
As they both said,the Rags have been doing it for years and now we are also showing that type of belief.
 
Watched the game with my wife when we got back from the game

She doesn't normally comment on the show but was perplexed as to why the highlights looked like we were incredibly lucky and that 'plucky' Wigan had completely dominated us.

Yet the stats showed we had more possession, more shots on target and more shots off target although we were level with corners

Five or ten minute highlights can be extremely deceiving. I think what got me in the analysis, was they showed two Wigan chances and said we were fortunate. One was a free header from ten yards that the Wigan player really should have done better with and the other, no one ever looked like getting on the end of the cross apart from the player practically on the dead ball line who had no chance of scoring
Compare those to the totally misjudged headed chance Balotelli should have buried from three yards that I'm very surprised they didn't highlight. There again Mario scored, so perhaps if he hadn't, they might have
