Pretty damning verdicts there by Shearer and Gullitt........about time indeed. I wonder what all the other so called experts who've tipped them for the title are saying now.
The new opening MOTD sequence is good.
The last time the rags lost on the opening day they won the title. Long way to go but still funny.

The analysis of Rio was beautiful.

Shearer: "Rio told us at the World Cup he didn't like Zonal marking, well by the looks of it, he doesn't like man marking either"

Stick that on a 5cap camel face.
Shame Rio isn't at the rags anymore.

Hmm after watching the live stream I was surprised no mention on the 4 mins injury time from no injuries or time wasting which Dean made into 5 1/2 mins. Thought we was going to play til they scored.

Also we didn't see the final whistle .....all those empty seats.....we had turtle walking out to a mutant hero's welcome...why not show him creeping out.....

Just watching it again this morning. Did anyone else spot that cracking NFL-style block/bodycheck on ''the face'' as the ball came across to Ki for the opening goal? Think it was the number 10 (Routledge, is it?).

Fair enough. Thanks for that RB. Made me titter anyway!

I noticed how the rags were constantly trying to tell one another where to go to cover and how quickly several of them stopped listening or tracking their man. That back line was atrociously static and unaware, plus no engine in the middle.

Hope it's still as bad by the time we come along - if so, we could be on for a bigger score than the 6-1

I have a feeling they may have abandoned 3-5-2 by the time they arrive at the Etihad.

If they do not add to ther squad they can use whatever formation they want when they come visiting - we will still tear them a new one and send them packing. Can you imagine that starting eleven being anounced when they play us. I'd expect Hart to be on the scoresheet.

If they don't bring in mercenaries...sorry, reinforcements, we could have Chappers in goal and let Joe look after the kit, so ineffectual is the rag strike force.

The last time they lost their first fixture at the swamp - 1972 - they didn't.

To be fair to Dean, there was a lengthy delay for an injury right at the start of the time added on.
