It’s still a hugely popular show.

Just looking at that presentation team does my head in, how is that truly representative of the people who attend the matches or the country as a whole?
I have at least 8 women in my row in SSL1
2 behind me, thhe fella 3 to my left is spanish, 2 to my right are 2 lads from down south, all been in those seats since the move form moss side, then there are mancs from all over the region, some young, some old some a bit posher than others

That’s my biggest criticism - that they don’t have to be the same as Sky and the papers but could offer something different and non biased.

I think that's because they've been told (by governments, government appointed cronies and also by the public) that they're just another broadcaster who needs to compete on the same basis as others. So in some parts of their portfolio they increasingly make the same lowest common denominator shit as other broadcasters. There now seems to be insufficient people (within and without) who care about the spirit of the BBC charter for them to have the guts to live up to it. The public gets what the public want.

It's representative of what the BBC thinks is representative.
