Our midfield hasn’t had any control really. People can slag me off all they like but it’s true. We attacked the wide areas really well for 20 mins, but since then it’s been quite an uneventful match. Mendy is downright terrifying in possession, he needs to improve. Fancy us to win this 2-0 after some tasty subs come on.

I think Laporte has been excellent.

I agree. He's also been getting "Kolarov'd", i.e. abandoned to cover the LB role quite often. Dinho has helped out too down there & for me has also been fantastic.

There was a point in that half where we were 5 onto 3. Gundogan in possesion. A simple ball 10 yards to his right to put Mahrez in and he just pokes it 3 yards. Things like that is what piss fans off.

Could do but he keeps playing that diagonal ball to Arsenal's cbs when he gets in dangerous areas.

Mendy is no shadow of Delph position-wise and cutting inside, but then Delph is no a scratch on Mendy bombing forward - conundrum to be solved.

Mendy isn't comfortable coming inside, that's very obvious, he's got a lot to learn there.

Bernardo's just not been on the ball enough IMO, he's supposed to be controlling the game if he's in for Silva, and he's not doing that at all, he's playing like he would when he's alongside Silva & KDB.

Gundogan ineffective in this role, he's been great in games just off Aguero, he's been great at #6, I don't think I've ever seen him have a good game for us in this role.

He is a 6 or support striker. Never an 8 yet

I just think hooking him at halftime may lead to collateral effects that we could do without. We’ll see what Pep does, of course.

Decent enough first half, but Mendy and Gundogan look a bit off the pace. Need to get De Bruyne on for the second half.
