The only reason I can think of for why Pep keeps using this useless system might be that he's engineering an exit strategy with a hefty compensation paycheck!

He's been on £20 million a year since he joined us - probably on £23 million a year now. His wealth is probably north of £200 million - if he's motivated by money I'd be amazed.

We’ve lost our hunger. Recruitment hasn’t been good enough. The same group can only go to the well so often. You keep hunger in a squad by refreshing with players who have yet to win things. Is Gundogan in that bracket?

There's not one part of the team playing well. At least pre-takeover when we had Dunne and Distin/Micah as a solid unit at the back. We are a system team and our pedestrian midfield is making both the defence and attack struggle. I cannot see a solution apart from signing new midfielders in January but would they be able to hit the ground running?
