Like a stan laurel delayed reaction to being hit on the head..Words from Pep that could make your hair stand on end…
“Lads, why don’t we try dropping back about 10-15 yards, give them less spaces to run into….”
Goosebumps
Tbf, I’d be happy to see Carson come on.Peps subs are normally the oldest players on the bench so expect kdb Ake walker or Scott Carson all to come on at some point
fucks sake short memory or whatIn all seriousness now, how, when he continues to set us up as we are, can anyone continue to support Guardiola?
Morgan Rogers, a player that didn't fit the Guardiola mold (just like all the others he never tried who are now ripping up trees) is making our midfield of Lewis, Gundogan, Kovacic, Foden, and Bernardo look like 8 stone wet weaklings. The goal we conceded was like a knife through butter and just pathetic. We offer nothing but sideways, sideways, backwards. Despite having over 70% possession, we generate less than nothing.
I agree to an extent Ric but still think Rico is a big issue for the way we want to play - it's not that he's a poor player but when I see him running without the ball he leaves tons of space and when he has it his only thought is to give it short - often he will play a pass and then like a young kid playing will follow the pass line by running into the space we need to create. He's not good enough to be our playmaker especially with the lack of strength and control from Kova and Gundo who have both been poor again. We have to find a way of getting more from Erling who looks lost and not engaged today. Play fast and go for it and we can win this, carry on playing slow rondo style and we lose.I think we're actually playing reasonably well in the circumstances. The problem is we don't really look like scoring, whilst they look threatening every time they break. Never really thought we could win this one, but there are glimmers of hope though that might be slowly turning the corner once we get a few more players back. Grealish has been really bright on the left hand side.
