A show of character and bravery in adverse circumstances so far.

We looked very tired for a long 15 minutes, but the red card and the goal happening so closely together focused us.

Red cards: Kompany was fouled before he dragged Jelavic down and El Mohammady is lucky to still be on the pitch. If Silva's leg had been planted it would have been a career-ending tackle.

Silva's goal was fantastic. The bend and swerve he managed to get behind it were utterly mesmeric, it's a shame he can't do that more often. At the time I don't think we deserved it, but we've used the goal to our advantage very well so far.

Demichelis and Javi Garcia have been excellent so far, with Demichelis definitely taking the Man of the Half award.

To be fair not many are going to beat Davies with high balls up the middle of the pitch. Those expecting Negredo to do any better with that type of service are in for disappointment.

i'm in the navas for dzeko camp, lets keep the ball on the ground and run at them on the counter. dzeko is not doing very well so far, but it is nearly impossible working conditions for his type of player right now.

Can't play without a striker. We need someone to win long passes and provide an outlet. Navas for Dzeko would invite too much pressure IMO

Why people are asking for Negredo I do not know, don't get me wrong it's an improvement to Dzeko but a goal is not the important thing here. The most important thing here keeping possession, at least to me it is. That's how this game could be won.

You answered your own question. Negredo holds the ball up better, wins headers and has a better work rate in defending from the front.
