Phil is having a decent game but he should take a leaf out of Jesus’s book when taking it at the edge of the box. Don’t automatically play it back out. Turn the player with your first touch.
If nothing else it will draw fouls. If you turn the defender, you’re in on goal.
A little more direct, please. Take them on.

I hope risking Stones doesn't backfire for his season. Didn't look fit at all, like he was trying to play at walking pace and only run as a last resort. Match-fit, I think he'd be doing a great job, as even despite him not being fully at it and making a couple of errors as you'd expect of someone in that position, they hardly looked like capitalising on it.

Gabby continuing his run of form, playing very well. And Kev has turned up big-time. We should be several goals ahead, and the only real disappointment (apart from the Stones situation) is that we let them back in it.

Great that we are winning the tie.......but this game should be over,we should be out of sight.Once again we are our own worst enemies,this lack of purpose going forward in favour of slowing down the game and favouring playing it backwards and sideways will always prevent us from being the team we can be if a bit more directness and invention in attack was implemented.

Foden and Kev superb,Jesus too,Bernie soing ok but never quite fully in the game in the role he is performing.As for Mahrez,other than the fantastic assist,he has not made a single other correct choice in the game.

Eddie also needs to sort his shit out,he got away with 2 or 3 shite plays in that half.

Hopefully a more settled defence will give us the foundation to build o our lead in the second.

Haven't got a fucking clue what game you're watching. We're 2 goals shy (at least) of where we should be because of either poor decisions at crucial moments; poor first touch at crucial, or poor finishing at crucial moments, not because of lack of purpose.

I actually think a direct Sterling would terrorise this lot. The problem is he’d then fuck everything up once a sufficient amount of terrorisation in the move had been achieved.

we had them, we ripped them apart, could have been 3-0 up at the very least.
Liverpool home PL game the same, we could have been 3-1 up at HT and they scored in 46th minute then mahrez missed the sitter in the end.

hope its not the same today.

we are better than them, but cannot finish decent chances. both big chances were not even on target, thats like a level worse than if we make the keeper to save it or get a corner from it or get a rebound from it etc.

Benema had 1 chance and he had to make a shot to a very specific place otherwise Ederson gets there and he put the ball just there.

I'm not blaming either. Shooting in those positions isn't talked about if the ball hits the net or if they choose to pass and they get that wrong people moan that they didn't shoot. People just like to moan about certain players

Both foden and mahrez have played well but they both just had bad first touches which is a rarity with those two. Shit happens. Its the pillocks at the back especially ederson that has made this a again.

Madrid ain't as good as us but they have players who if you give them a chance they will take it. We have a habit of gifting daft goals away when on top.

Let's hope bollockings have been given and we win the second half 1 or 2 nil.
