We really do need to get our shit together soon... and i'm not just talking about this game, I mean as in the season. Ever since Stoke it's as if the team has lost confidence. Granted they were tough games from then on, but we should be bullying Arsenal and Chelsea.

So typical of our attacking threat to simply vanish just as we look good defensively.

Coincidentally - that was the game where we break away from two-striker formation, and returned to it vs. Liverpool...which was, again coincidentally, our best game in a while...

Just sayin. We lack sharpness going forward when we play with one up front.

this game is why milner doesn't get more playing time. he's been very mediocre against very poor opposition

And who else has been a stand out performer in midfield?

For the money these guys are paid, the final ball and decision making is shocking. Dzeko looks like he's trying to play second striker in a one-striker setup. How many times have we broken forward and he's trailing behind Milner?

Milner inconsistent. This is why he never cemented his spot as a starter. Navas' crosses are only finding Sheffield players. Sagna looking about as useful going forward as Lescott.

Although negredo would have been unavailable tonight this is where the 3 strikers situation has cost us - particularly with 2 being quiet injury prone in recent years.

Fernandinho and Yaya worked hard and Milner keeps trying to make things happen. Kolarov played first half at half pelt and navas well of the boil. Dzeko very disappointing, maybe he is over desperate for a goal.

Plenty of flapping going on here.

We got beat at home by Wigan last season...............

Another noteworthy performance from Mangala. Impressed with Fernandinho and Milner has been lively. Yaya should push up and not revert back deep as he can create something up front.

All in all good first half. The thing is that we must remain focused at the back and not give away any goal and then we will be fine. But I am guessing it has not worked as well as Pellegrini had planned as he would have liked to go two up at half time and then bring in some young players like Pozo but this type of games are never easy.

The main thing is that we are not taking this game lightly hence the starting line up and I am sure the goal will come in the second half.
