I'll get slagged for this - but I still take Nasri off for Milner...

Other than the goal/tap in Nasri has been a passenger....for three games now.

Silva was miles offside, maybe the lino didn't see Edin's flick.

Dzeko/Silva our two best players, otherwise we've been poor. Hate these 12:45 kick off especially against a very good pressing side like Southampton.

How good is Shaw!

Not saying definitively either way but it was definitely not miles, they showed it several times and Shaw made it extremely close. If the cut of the grass is perfectly parallel to the goal then Silva was off by six inches.

Riding our luck, so far, and I'd be tempted to put Garcia in the huge empty space in front of Demichelis and Kolarov.

What formation would you play with the players we have available? The only change we can possibly make is Navas for either Garcia or Rodwell. Other than that we will get mullered with 2 strikers on.

I would player Milner instead of Navas. He is instinctively a much deeper midfield than Navas, so will get involved and chip in around the middle a lot more. It's a small change, but makes a huge difference to how we control possession. Id also have Jovetic on instead of Nasri. He has a much higher work rate and appears to be a better player in general. Nasri has been gash in recent games, including today.

Agree with bringing in Milner for Navas. Navas seems best suited to come on for 30 mins late in games for an injection of pace against tired opponents. When a team employs a high press, he's lost at sea.

Shaw is wide open down the left side the entire game. Think Navas is just losing him time and time again. Milner on would steady that.

Them losing Rodriquez was a big plus for us.

They will still come at us and while I would take this scoreline now ( who wouldn't at City ) there are probably more goals to come in this match.

Despite their dominance of possession they haven't created much and lets hope that remains the case.
