Very LVG like, possession with a lack of penetration, only difference is we could probably turn it on at will, I feel Pep wants the lads to get accustomed so is happy with it working out like a training exercise if we are in front. It's bloody awesome to see organisation like this though and it will only get better!

Never expected pep to be compared to LVG, but bluemoon is special

Not a bad first half, and sterling did well to earn the penalty.

The wholly expected shortcoming is the system, as a whole, not being the finished article(the back isn't linking with the middle enough and too many old niggles in the form of hoofing in a panic)yet. Good signs with stones looking solid, silva looking better than any point last season, and raheem looking generally more comfortable on the right.

Given the fairly LTD pre season, and the new system, i'd give them a solid 8/10...wish they would stop flicking the camera's across to hart at every opportunity mind.

Inverted wing backs are really noticeable from south stand level 3. It's a bit mad watching all this, even though we lost our way towards half time.

Lol-its almost like we haven't watched football before-2-3-5 in possession, although all looks a bit like Pep by numbers at the moment. It will take a few games to bed in.

So far, no individual has shone, except Stones, but the Team has been solid! Very interesting how the attack interchange places! If a few players raise the bar in 2nd half the goals will come, and when this style gels it will be great!

Whats wrong with saying its ineffective? It is, I and its boring . De bruyne, sterling and nolito have been really poor. Their keeper has been a passenger for the most part. A few shots would be nice. All right spoofing about how clever this formation is. We were nearly caught out, need more threat up front.

Sterling hasn't veen poor at all.

Why can't folk get it into their heads that this system is going to take time to implement. It's as if they are willing us to fail in order to appear right on the Internet.
