I've never seen Walker's starting position be as central as this with Cancelo outside of him. Normally if Walker plays Cancelo is on the left. They seem to have no understanding at all. Anyway we were lucky to get away with it last week and it ain't working again tonight.

That's because Walker is playing as a centre back...

We've had a 3 2 formation at the back for 6 years. Delph/Zinchenko/Cancelo tucked in on the left next to the DM and we had a back 3 of CB CB Walker.

The only thing new today is Walker is playing CB.

The problem is in midfield, not the back line. Cancelo is doing fuck all next to Phillips, Phillips is playing like it's his first start in months, Foden has probably pushed back his move to midfield by 3 years and Gundogan looks 45.

I don’t know what to say - I didn’t like the line up at the beginning and to have a chance we need to change it up. Midfield creativity has been non existent

Just proper boring this, init? Never thought I’d see the day we were consistently boring rather than it being an anomaly.

Phil isn’t a teenager…agree with Phillips not having played consistently for quite a while

Not watching so just looked at positional line up on LiveScore showing Palmer there, tbf though Foden has barely ever played there either
Just to many changes and positional tweaks by the looks/sounds of it
