I'd argue €50m (£44.7m) is very good value for a player of Kovacić's ability. Around £8m less than Fred, £6m less than what's being quoted for Richalison, £22m less than Alisson and a good £30-40m less than what we were being quoted for Pjanić.

Don't be surprised mate some were saying this before we bought Fernandinho, still some don't understand that Pep will improve him if he comes.

I certainly believe Pep would improve him. But, he's nowhere near Fernas level, then or now. He lacks intelligence with the ball.

If he could be taught to not run with the ball as much he'd be quality member of our squad. Has the physique for the premier league and Pep's high pressing.

He doesn't actually run with the ball that much. It's what the YouTube compilations focus on because it's eye catching, but he does it roughly once or twice a game and usually at the right times.

Kovacic is very adaptable. He can play a number of roles in midfield. I even remember him playing as a winger afew times at Inter, with his dribbling skills. He isn't a conventional DM but that isn't what Pep is looking for. I'm confident with his passing and ability to carry the ball upfield that he could play the no.6 role in the way Pep expects it tl be played.
