Would not mind him at all, actually, even with his injury, as he will probably recover fine and it would anger Moaninho (even more than he already is these days), as well, which is an added plus.
He'd be a disaster, far too one footed to build play from a central role.

I am not sure his four previous seasons in the PL really illustrate that he would be a “disaster” in the DM/holding CM role in our system, regardless of his tendency to favour his left foot.

I would say having a left-footed player, with his specific attributes, as an option in midfield, would actually be advantageous.

Though, all of this is merely an intellectual exercise, anyway, as we won’t be getting him.

Disaster is probably a bit harsh, but we need someone to consistently feed the two midfielders in front of them in advanced positions and he only does that on one side, the other side gets careful 5 yard sideways passes.

The chairman in his usual end of season address has stated the values of getting the transfer window right. In all honesty we did not need an upheaval Mahrez was a good shout. but a DM was the key addition .the jorginho argument has been done to its death but worse there seems no other replacement to suit. It seems we are going with what we have. after all we got out of jail with the left back situation last season. I just hope it doesnt comeback to bite us on the arse

If he's the sort of player to pull a stunt like going on strike, is he the right type of character for us? And yes; I know Mahrez pulled a similar stunt last season.

Would be an unconventional choice for a DM, but his energy and drive are compelling; we don’t really have a player blessed with those attributes. However, if his grievance at Madrid is insufficient playing time, then we can hardly guarantee him that.

He he he. I know. Point is at some point you inevitably have a cross to bear with these players. Fuck me look how long we had to endure yayas antics and I loved him.
