I agree with every word. And I wanted him when he left Madrid. Have zero doubt he'd be a good fit here. Yet, I still be think they ought to be paying us for helping themsilve an overcrowding problem:)

When Rodri was looking gassed near the end of the match today I thought we could have really used Kovacic (or a player like him) to shore up the midfield.

He's top quality, Pep will make him even better, a very shrewd signing.

I wonder if he isn’t a potential Rodri back-up, with Pep not convinced by KP yet. Plus, if KP comes good, and Gundo does go, allowing Kovacic to play in there, then KP is an excellent back up for both of them.

It was reported that Pep sees Kovacic as a 6 and an 8. It was also reported that his signing has nothing to do with Gundo and Bernardo’s futures. I doubt KP is leaving… but I do think Pep wants more depth in that midfield.

Remains to be seen who leaves and stays. Laporte and Cancelo are the only two guaranteed in my book.

Neither are ready. Doyle will probably be sold to Sheffield and James will need more gametime to grow more. Zero logic in letting them rot on the bench when they could grow with another loan each.

Mcatee imo will get a new contract this summer and stay at Sheffield United as well next season but I do think he could make it here

Yeah if City can keep Gundo and/or Bernardo, McAtee is probably their successor next summer. I just think if McAtee is going to play for the best team in the world, he needs a lot more gametime and experience.

And his ability to transport the ball with pace is something none of our midfielders can do with that speed. He's just adding something City do not have currently: Depth and strenghts that ours do not have
