Can anyone actually tell what Maguire is meaning to do with the ball?Harry Maguire can, in the wrong net.
We could be on to something here.
Good luck proving that!

Its certainly shut plenty up,many of our own.
Maybe I am seeing a different player but Rice is not a generational talent. Bellingham on the other hand may well be in that category. This is so wrong in so many ways. Rice is way more talented and it's mostly due to his better all around skill set. Nunes' best trait is probably his ability to glide by people with deceiving pace for his size and progress the ball through dribbling. Rice literally was the best player in world football for that last season. Progressed the ball more than any other player in Europe. So Rice is better than Nunes at what Nunes does best. Essentially all other categories Rice is superior too. Rice and Bellingham are 2 leagues ahead of any other midfield target we've had this window once they were sold.
Just because we didn't sign Rice, doesn't mean we need to be silly and pretend Matheus Nunes is better. Generational talent vs a good utility/squad player. Would still love Nunes but c'mon.
Never knowingly undersold for sure :-) Seriously friend, ball carrying from midfield is a function of Gollum's gameplan, just not comparable with forwards breaking on the counter attack like Vinicius and only 100m more than am obscure 15m euro squaddie at PSG is just not a convincing stat - more critical thinking required. Rice is a really good player but you overrate his impact in terms of match results. His record simply doesn't justify such an enormous price tag but that's the English market premium. My only other comment is that the word 'generational' should be used with caution - also "unstoppable" "unplayable" "best version" "world class" "elite level" etc - usually meaningless commentary hype.I said Declan Rice was the best player in world football at progressing the ball forward via dribbling last season. Not that he's the best player in world football, obviously. He literally carried the ball further than any other player. That is not opinion but fact. As seen here:

The 2 leagues above comment is obviously exaggerated but I mean in terms of catergories of talent. We've got the generational midfield talents that are Rice, Jude, Pedri and maybe FDJ. Then world class players that have the potential to reach the top few in the world. This league is close to the best, but a step below. And then the rest. Special in certain areas and when used right are world class, but requiring a system that helps them succeed to truly flourish. I.E Paqueta, Nunes, Eze, etc.
Which so happens to explain why City targeted Jude and Rice first, before settling down the list. Still class players but could be better.

You are 100% correct with that statement. Nunes will be great in the role Pep puts him in. That's what makes Pep so special. He gets the best out of the lads.Maybe I am seeing a different player but Rice is not a generational talent. Bellingham on the other hand may well be in that category.
The value of Nunes to City is probably wrapped up in whatever plan Pep has in mind for him. Comparing him to Rice may not be useful in such a context.
