Nunes is imo a pep project signing ala Rodri? Someone he believes he can make into a world class DM?

Just seems like everyone, reports, reporters and ITKs and such are all classing him as a backup to Rodri. That’s it. Although I wouldn’t buy anything regarding any target until the season is totally over.

It’s all from Portugal and their history is more than questionable. This coupled with the nonsense of appointing him as “Rodri backup”. I would be shocked. Very convenient to just link us with him as Pep handed them a quote back in the round of 16. Agent must have loved it
 
Given the way Portuguese media constantly linked us to Nuno Mendes and Bruno Fernandes I can’t help but feel like these links are similar nonsense.
 
What if Pep likes Nunes as a CM? Who says he has to be the back up to Rodri...City could bring in Nunes AND a DCM...How about we open our minds a bit...What if they're prepared to move on from Gundo and view Nunes as a replacement for him...its not like City ever go for Portugese players, LMFAO...
 
If the rumors regarding Gundogans back are true then this move makes even more sense, if he now can shift between 6/8 and a pivot role. But i do think City will need two midfielders if Gundogan is restriced. McAtee could be the 2nd option? Bernardo and Kdb will still be cemented starters.

Dropping into the 4231 as we have been recently would be ideal to drop McAtee in as a #10 while he's learning. Plays to all his strengths
 
i think the fact the city press pack havent knocked this rumour down like the Nuno Mendes link then there is certainly something in us signing him.

Totally agree. His usage is broad by looking at Citys depth issues and gundogan issues.

Agree, he’s absolutely more a Gundogan type player but what I’ve seen he can play back & forward in midfield.
