Seems more like a Kovacic type. A deep lying midfielder who will play close to Rodri. Much needed depth there but probably won't add much in the final 3rd.

Don't kid yourself at city he's surrounded by world class players he will only improve he's already top notch.

I haven’t caught up fully and I could be a nut but I always think there’s an underrated aspect when bringing in lads that have connection to others. Doku will be good for KDB (albeit much younger I know) and if nunes gets done imagine that’s great for Bernardo Dias eddy etc etc

The key is that he is more than capable of playing in Rodri’s position

We are not signing him because of the G+A. His take-ons, progressive passes, and carries are exceptional. He is REALLY FAST. He is a hard worker, box-to-box type, press-resistant, and has the ability to play through balls and dribble. For me, he is like a mixture of Jack, Kovacic, and Bernardo. Obviously, not as good (yet), but a great prospect. Most importantly, Pep rates him extremely highly. Perhaps most importantly, gives Rodri a rest due to his significant defensive contribution.

It's very clear that we are targeting players who can carry the ball.
Gvardiol can do it from the back, kovacic from midfield, doku from the wing with a few tricks thrown in and nunez and Eze can both do it from midfield.
