Matthijs de Ligt

Let's not forget how long we kept Yaya around after Seluk spent year after year talking shit. I think Pep and the club dealt with the situation flawlessly.
I have to say, I don't get the "we don't deal with certain agents" thing at all. It's a business transaction and if you're doing your job correctly you put personal biases aside and do what's best for the organization. It's not like the agent is hanging around your office, next time you'll see him is in a few years time if you want to renew. Weird policy.

Another example of you not getting football

Yep. It’s nonsense.

If I were to guess, it's a policy that exists only in the minds of fans.

Just a guess.

Well it's obviously not an actual policy considering we signed one of his players less than twelve months ago. But even conceptually, in what business (and football at the top level is absolutely a business) could you just decide not to deal with a major player in your industry because you don't get on personally? My clients and my boss would never accept that, because it makes no sense. It's not to say you're always going to come to an agreement with this person, maybe he's demanding super high wages or whatever, and thats fine, but the idea that we just wouldn't try is nonsense and a pretty transparent excuse.

Whether we have a policy of not dealing with that fat **** or not, we will definitely have a policy of not paying the fat **** an extra 20 million quid on top of deals.

If he asks for a huge bung, we will tell him to fuck off.

I should think we only care about the amount we pay for a player. Doubt we care too much who the money goes to. 70M to Ajax or 40M to Ajax and 30m to the agent. It's all the same to us.

It's not a couple of years down the line when the fat agent wants de Ligit moving on again for another pay day.
