Matthijs de Ligt

These are just RECENT purchases, you must've forgotten purchases like Coutinho for £142m. 142 fucking million pounds. FUCK.

that one was paying too much, but it was also founded by Neymar sale.

Barcelona are huge club, has loads of money and some posts here look like what other teams say about us. How they spend, how they fund, this or that..

Maybe they are overspending, but it's their business. I couldn't care less if they bankrupted tomorrow.

Sky Sports reported De Ligt to Barca was basically done this morning, and Goal says PSG and Juve are ahead of Barca. Honestly, I don't think any club is close.
De Ligt said himself he is not sure about his next move and will know later in the summer.
I really hope Txiki and Pep goes after this guy with all they got because I wouldn't be too excited about Maguire when this talent is on the move. I don't think Maguire is even on the table for Pep.

What do you reckon @FCBarca is he a Barcelona Player?

A month ago, seemed bang on for Barcelona based on credible local sources & gauging what Bartomeu has said but now, honestly, no feel one way or another - I'm hovering at 50/50 here. I don't know the player's background well enough unlike De Jong. He's a Barcelona fan and best mates with De Jong (including their girlfriends). He loves Koeman and Ajax in general are very much Barca-centric so it tilts things in our favor but as I have said before Raiola makes it very unpredictable

For what it's worth, Aguilar who is considered Tier 1 for Barcelona (Not my favorite source) says the agreement between Ajax & Barca will be announced shortly for €74 million

Hey all,

I havent read this thread, but from what i've read (articles) it seems like he's going to Barca. Can someone explain to me how Barca are able to make purchases of multiple world class players in quick succession? FPP?

Barca's recent purchases

De Jong: £67.50m
MalcolmL £36.90m
Clément Lenglet: £32.31m
Catalan banks will be very sympathetic to their needs i would assume. Similarly so for Real and the big banks based in Madrid. It will not be unlimited but i think they would go above and beyond what they would for any other customer. Including saddling themselves with huge risks should the clubs default whilst being pretty happy to help any such issues disappear.

I concur on everything other than the finances, they are up shit creek!

True. But Ajax are very Guardiola centric as well. That includes Koeman.

Maybe once but Spanish banking isn’t in a good place. Equally the Catalan government has been generous to Barca but there’s direct rule from Madrid - so there’s unlikely to be any soft loans or financial assistance anytime soon. Barca will need to stand on their own two feet and they have a huge infrastructure plan to revamp their stadium so whilst they do have huge financial resources they don’t have a bottomless pit and they have bought very badly in recent years.

Maguire is a left sided centre back.
