Bit different when dealing for a £10m player that's merely intended for loan or future squad than for a marquee signing like De Ligt which will include massive agent fees, big wage and overall fees.

Could still be interested but Raiola is definitely not someone we deal with for big signings. Fairly sure news came around that he offered Pogba to us too.

That's apparently a reputable Catalunya journo who knows Pep. And per him, in by principle City have not asked about de ligt because it involves dealing with someone who insults the coach and the club.
 
Hard to believe the whole Raiola bit still. I do think the wages is definitely something off putting for City but aside that Raiola is merely a mediator to get the deal across the line. His actual agent is some really old Dutch guy.

It could just be a way for City to keep everything low-key in trying to negotiate, as they don't have many centre half targets and have yet to deny or come out with 'no interest' in player. Reach maybe but you never know.

You're right it is different, theres 100 phillip Sandlers out there, if the club didnt want to deal with Mino Raiola they could have signed any one of the other talented but not good enough for City yet 21 year olds out there.

You cant have a principle of not dealing with someone and then happily deal with them.

Or maybe just so happened to be that there was minimal fuss about the deal to get it done unlike with De Ligt which obviously has a lot more at stake and lot more to deal with? Maybe they do deal with him but do not want complications so they backed out, put it whichever way you like clearly our interest in the player hasn't been registered according to sources because of that reason. But as I said, what do we know

I have read that Raiola has become his real agent as the old one was out of his depth to manage de Ligt career now. He is the one who reached out for Raiola. He is now his counselor apparently while Raiola does the regular job.

Strange that Bayern have sold Hummels to Dortmund and Boateng is out of favour .. De Ligt possibly to Bayern?
Surely they cant afford De Ligt and Sane in the same window, silver linings and all that..
 
We can only go off what the City related reporters give us. How do we know what City's policy for negotiating is? Maybe they deal with some agents for some players and other times they don't because they're put off by something. It's not rocket science lol
