Matthijs de Ligt

I, too, find it hard to believe that neither us nor PSG have made an offer.
It seems like semantics to me. United may be the only team to submit a formal transfer offer in writing or something along those lines, but I'm sure other clubs have made very clear where they would be if a formal offer was made.

He mentioned it in the radio show.. I just heard it now

It's around 10 minutes in, after they discuss AWB. He says same as mentioned above that " concrete " offer is ONLY from united.

Rest offers like Juve , PSG etc are verbal.

Thanks, that makes more sense.
We did buy Ronaldo thanks to a gentlemen's agreement.

"Matthijs de Ligt has only one offer on the table, from Manchester United."

"Matthijs de Ligt has chosen to stay at Ajax for another season."

Half of us were convinced Pep was joining our team.

No 90 per cent were convinced and half remained convinced in the face of overriding evidence that it simply wasn’t happening. Think you’ll get a De Ligt and you’ll make a fortune when he gets moved on again in 3 years time.

That's my hope. I'd prefer keeping him for many years as the pillar of our defence but that's more and more rare in modern football.

If he does consider United it's definitely just for the money. I can't think of any other reason.
For each of the other suitors you could make a case of them being a big winning team that plays in the CL. I don't see him downgrading to the EL.

He won’t go to `United... ahead of you or PSG.

Hard to comprehend even a diehard United fan actually believing their club has ever stood a chance to sign the player

Not really hard to comprehend a diehard fan believing their club could sign a good player.

It doesn't make sense from a rational outside perspective, but fans are biased by definition.
