Matthijs de Ligt

I've read that de Ligt wanted to play with Messi, but since Barcelona couldn't afford, he chose to go to Juventus so that he could play with Ronaldo instead.

I don't know how much truth there is to that statement; he apparently idolized Ronaldo since he was little.
I do believe Barcelona were his first choice though, probably because of the club's standing and playing style, and also for the huge pull they have on Dutchmen.

Did Juve actually formally announce De Ligt? And if no why not?

No. And you formally announce a player only once everything's formally in order and he's signed.

I wish they hurried up though, we fans are wasting ourselves away over these transfer waits. We've already tired of this window after having waited more than one month for fucking Sarri.
Come on Dutchie, have some compassion.

Supposedly Bartomeu attempted to arrange a last minute visit to De Ligt in Amsterdam much like he did with De Jong, player agreed as did Raiola except the starting point would have to be what has already been agreed with Juve - Bartomeu withdrew the proposed meeting

Well then, hopefully Juventus will announce it this week. These sagas are getting old.

"Of course it's not about money, it's such an honour for me to be asked to join J...........................what's that fatty?..... .......really!.....ooh!...................Bar...........ah shit.............Juventus........."
I'm trying to work out what Maguire will say on joining the rags.
The only reason will be ££££££££ but i bet he doesn't mention it.

British media:

De Ligt is money mad and is joining some lickle Italian side
Maguire is playing for the shirt of the biggest club in the world.

Rumours that he'll land in Turin tonight after 10 (9 for you rosbifs).

I does make you wonder if it was his wage demands?

As the £68mill transfer fee, if true, was easily within our transfer range.

Especially when you factor in his age and talent.

But his nationality wasn't, no room in the squad we had 1 spot after kompany left we used it for rodri. Makes more sense to keep otamendi and danilo unless a decent offer came if we signed de ligt we would be offered peanuts for our players as they will know we need to offload someone, the offers we get are already low enough.

Fair enough.

Forgot about the foreign quota.
