Good news hope there is no last minute hitchs we are cutting it fine!!

I thought European transfers had to be completed by Sunday night.

You may be correct, but the department of Employment won't be seeing anything through until Monday at earliest.

In fact, if you are right, then you have probably also just confirmed Mariga is now a City player.

Surely even we aren't daft enough to have left it this late, without some sort of indication that the red tape won't be an issue.

Ha Ha - nice work!

City linked with Parma swoop
Mancini eyes Mariga

Just on SSN website now.

Manchester City are reported to have agreed a deal with Parma for their midfield starlet McDonald Mariga.

The 22-year-old is a Kenyan international and has been plying his trade in Italy for two-and-a-half years.

He originally joined Parma in 2007 on-loan from Helsingborgs, but they snapped him up on a permanent deal after he impressed hugely.

The defensive midfielder has gone from strength to strength and a host of clubs have been linked over the past 12 months with Arsenal and Inter Milan also keen.

But Roberto Macini is now reported to have convinced City's hierarchy to push through a deal worth around £7million for the player.

Sources in Italy claim that Parma president Tommaso Ghiradi and managing director Pietro Leonardi brokered the move on Friday evening.

It is also claimed that Parma wanted to do a deal with City, in order for them to facilitate a permanent deal for Valeri Bojinov - currently on loan with them from Eastlands.

May be regurgitated but it's looking likely. :)

Ah I see BDJ beat me too it....

DAMN YOU!!! ;)

Why were skysports the last to know? Crap journalism I suspect.

Googled him, seems most the big teams have courted him over the past 2 years, Inter were hoping to get him before we came in, plus United were trying to offer them Macheda as part of a swap for him in the summer, bit like what were doing with Bojinov. Looks a fookin unit as well.
