Feel sorry for him but he couldn't organise his defence which, considering his background, was fairly surprising. If he had a defence as solid as Stoke's then they'd do quite well as there is plenty of talent in that team.

Apparently Rafa Benitez is the bookies' favourite for the Wolves job, ahead of Curbishley and Bruce.

Dave Jones also being mentioned...but they've had him and sacked him before so unlikely.

What about Roy Keane or Peter Reid as outside bets or Neil Warnock perhaps?

I never really understand why fans get so irate at clubs like Wolves.

Mick came and they won the Championship title, then avoided relegation for two years. A difficult task that many clubs do not manage.

He hasn't been given a lot of money, yet the fans berate him now. I don't follow Wolves enough to see if he is making repeated tactical blunders but, what I fail to understand is what fans expect from a club like Wolves.

Without serious investment they will always battle relegation, with the odd good or bad season.

Fletcher, Doyle, Hunt and a few others have cost a few bob. I'm not saying they should be pushing for Europe but in my opinion should be well above where they are now

This happens all the time: clubs get promoted, it starts to get a bit hairy in the premier league and they sack the manager in desperation.

It was coming, but I think Wolves should have seen it out until the end of the season before making the move. I reckon they would have done enough to survive. Management is an old boys network, with the same faces being recycled at different clubs, so I can see Bruce getting it.
