McCarthy Sacked - Wolves

Mick for England ;)

Even though he played for RoI he was born in Barnsley and he was an ex blue, what more do you want! At least we'd get an honest interview after the game.

Because of his past association with us I have a soft spot for him, but his side have performed woefully this season and they are where they are because of him. They have some good players and they have a pretty big fan base, but to see them languishing where they are is obviously down to McCarthy himself.

Gutted. He adds flavour to the league. I hope he gets a new job soon.

I never really understand why fans get so irate at clubs like Wolves.

Mick came and they won the Championship title, then avoided relegation for two years. A difficult task that many clubs do not manage.

He hasn't been given a lot of money, yet the fans berate him now. I don't follow Wolves enough to see if he is making repeated tactical blunders but, what I fail to understand is what fans expect from a club like Wolves.

Without serious investment they will always battle relegation, with the odd good or bad season.
I disagree they've been in the league a few seasons now and haven't improved they play shite football compared to teams like norwich and swansea, and other teams with low budgets like everton, newcastle and stoke are doing much better. I like Mick McCarthy as a person but for he deserved the sack.

It's a real shame. I like watching Wolves they are entertaining to watch even though they lost 5-1 yesterday, their players gave a million miles more effort than Villa players did.

The fans have been very vocal and normally clubs crumble under that level of pressure from the fans. Think Mick new he was going to be fired. His reaction at the end of the game said it all.

All the shithouses have talked about on sky and talkshite this morning has been will he get the sack, this from guys who have never had managers jobs or refused managers jobs, hypocrites the lot of them.

about time, he underachieved on the pitch with the resources he had imo.

hope they get the next appointment right and stay up.
Underachieved? Based on what?

Shame, Mick seems like a genuine fella. Suppose the mandate for Wolves would be simply to stay up, they have some decent players and are more than capable with the right man at the helm. Not sure who that could be though, tempt Curbishley out of retirement?

deserving of the sack, if i was a wolves fan i would be delighted, his own mandate seems to be finish 4th from bottom, sacrifice every cup competition, play weakened teams at old trafford regardless of whether 2000 fans have paid 40 odd quid for tickets and settle for it every season.

wolves fans deserve to see their team try and win the cups or there is absolutely no point in going.
