Shame you missed out the white and sky blue away/3rd strip, that was a cracking shirt.

I'm collecting as much feedback as possible, including posts on the relevant threads so I'll include that, do you have a year for that shirt, is it the Sven version or an earlier version?

Blimey, it was 2007/08 shirt how time races by, I thought it was an umbro one in my head but it was Le Coq, so maybe best left off after all lol

Sorry.

it's alright mate, no reason why Nike can't do a similar design regardless of the manufacturer who did it for us originally.

Nearly 150 replies to the survey so far which is great, please take part if you're interested.

Is the survey done before or after the kit release?

Not sure what you mean.
Was the survey produced before the kit was released?
Was the survey produced after the kit was released?

I don't think I read the first post. I think I did.

i can put it in a if/else statement if you want? No, I'm not trying to be a twat, sorry.

yh "was" means it makes sense.

The survey was created after both Nike kits were released, if that helps in some way.

yh means fuck all to me.

Yes it does. I will be voting on the 'fuck all difference to me' button.

Thanks.

I tried on the home and away tops yesterday. Was tempted to buy one but didn't. Felt the black just wasn't City. And the crest on the home was pathetic. It doesn't look so bad until you touch it. It's like cardboard.

I would love the 2009 home shirt but with a vneck (no collar).

if its case of highlighting the case of Umbro vs Nike, when both brands were made by Nike, yet (in a matter of opinion) the quality is better than the other, then its a case of manufacturing.

Nike didn't produce the Umbro kits. Umbro did. They just owned the name. Umbro kits were still being produced, designed and manufactured by Umbro. (Nike bought Umbro for the England deal, cos it was cheaper to buy the brand. And sold it on as soon as they got the rights.)

So if you are trying to get City, to get Nike, to make the quality like Umbro kits, its futile. You have more chance of getting City to do a deal with Iconix in 6 years time and get the Umbro brand back.

The design and manufacturing process between Umbro and Nike are completely different. Umbro's output for all their club clients is about 1/3 of what Nike's is. Nike have to produce more, in less time ... so quality it seems, has to be sacirficed. Hoping Nike will re-produce the quality of Umbro is a pipe-dream.

Nike wont change their mass production process and downscale it down to the scale of Umbro's. Or change their workforce in the production process from Asia to Europe. For them, it doesnt make sense financially or logically.

So i don't see the point of the petition to complain to City about Nike? As a customer, if you don't like something, you don't buy it.

Regardless of the look of the shirts, some of the adult shirts are visibly 'threaded' or have loose cotton on the joints even before sale.

The worst quality issue however is with the Infant kits, they aren't even of remotely similar quality (as they were under Umbro); the feel of the shirt is that of tissue paper and it is not made of the same material as the adult kits, the badge on both the top and shorts is a very poor quality transfer (that will inevitably detach/crack through washing). It is shameful that Nike are even attempting to sell them as a genuine City kit.

having read this, i'm wondering whether it's worth bothering getting a nike shirt.

the last few years the quality of the material has been brilliant. making them comfy to wear, but these sound bad.

i was planning on getting the home and away shirts online, think i'll wait and feel the quality in store first.
