After watching the Pep documentary and hearing Bowie - Sound And Vision played it got me thinking that it would make a great song befitting to us. And if it gets going it will be uniquely ours for others to (perhaps) copy.

A few on that thread commented on how they thought it could become a good song.

Been in Sweden for the last few days for work, & everyone I've introduced to has been like "oh you're from Manchester, so like united yes?" (Fucking infuriating - but theyre all obsessed with Henrik Larsson).

Anyway, last night there was a conference afterparty with too much free booze. After a few too many I decided to sing the city versions to any songs that came on (bernardooo etc) - and given their propensity for playing ABBA, I inadvertently came up with the below banger ha.

Following day, back home and sober - and it's the best thing I achieved on the entire trip ha.

We should adopt the Oasis number (So Sally can wait) or summat.

It was adopted by Mancunians after the tragic arena bombing resonates with many fans and is widely recognised as a Manchester song.

It has really good 'anthemic' rhythm and a great rousing chorus.

We need another 'anthem' to add to BM and imo this one ticks all the boxes !!

Just on the beach in Goa listening to Johnnie Walker's sounds of the 70s and this cropped up, aeems to me the chorus is tailor made for a chant, even has 'City' in the right place, just needs someone to come up with decent lyrics and it should take off, simple for everyone, correct tempo to spread around the stands.
Then again, I am a few beers deep already, it's my birthday, so it could just be a shit suggestion.
