MCFC Songs and Chants thread

La la la la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la la la (optional)

He’s a midfield genius,
Drove a Peugeot car from France,
Now he’s dancing round the pitch to haunt you,
When you look at him and laugh,
We’ll remind you of the fact,
He’s the king of Man City completely,
Up front, he shoots, our magic blue,
HOT DOG

After hearing 'Blue is the colour' at the start of the Chelsea game and ' Marching on together' earlier at Dirty Leeds, it reminded me that we never seem to hear 'Boys in Blue' at the Etihad. Used to love it BITD at Maine Road.

‘The Boys In Blue’ is played about 10-15 minutes before kick off just before the teams are read out. Annoyingly, it always seems to be cut short by an advert on the screens.

And it’s also played as the team does their lap of honour thanking the fans that have stayed after the game.

I think it should be played when we come out at the start of games rather than 15-mins before, instead of ‘Hey Jude’, which has now just become a country-wide generic song (even if we did sing it first). Brentford do ‘Hey Jude’ much better than us these days, and Newcastle use it and their fans join in more than we do n’all.

I love ‘The Boys In Blue’, it’s better than ‘Blue Moon’. No idea why we don’t sing the chorus as a chant during games.

City (clap clap clap)
Manchester City
We are the lads who are playing to win
City (der der der der der)
The Boys In Blue never give in

City (clap clap clap)…
REPEAT

With Hey Jude - What’s the point in trying to sing OVER a ludicrously loud tannoy?
