Bit of a long winded tale but bear with it..
After last nights game I along with a couple of other st holders usually walk a half turn of the ground 'inside' in order to exit at the other side of the police barrier (near the mercedes garage), we normally do this as it is a little faster than exiting the ground at the K1/K2 entrance. Whilst attempting to do this I was confronted by a steward who blocked my path and was quite agressive and confrontational, he stepped up to me with his arms out in a 'no getting past' jesture which I found overtly agressive and quite intimidating and told me I was not getting past him and that I need to take the nearest exit. Now, I'm not aware of any ground rules that state this nor do I think I was breaking any other club rules so I argued the issue with him at which point he (inevitably) asked for my season ticket number, at this juncture making me out to be the agressor because I hadn't immidiately acquiesced to his 'commands'. Consequently he recruited others colleagues and before I knew it I was being followed out of the ground by about half a dozen stewards arguing as we went.
Does anybody know if I have broken any rules, if so, which ones?
If I haven't I would like to hear from any of the stewards on why you are so agressive towards home supporters and why you use such bullying tactics.
I will be taking this up with the club because it pretty much ruined the game for me and I'm still quite angry about how I was treated, more so if it turns out no rules were broken.
I would also like to remind fans and stewards that common assualt charges can be brought even if there is no physical contact, the threat or percieved threat of an imminent assault is enough for charges to be brought....
