When does the league start?

They run a March-September league rather than the other way round like the mens (ish).

So you're ready with the Swarovski binoculars like me ;-) The 10 x 42 are just great for Sea eagles, Manchester beaver ?

Can we have a subforum for MCFC ladies and womens football generally? Then we don't have to bother anyone that isn't interested. Seriously. I shudder at the responses if I started posting about linking-up with UNC or Stamford and posting videos of promising juniors and seniors, or women from the US that might be worth enquiring about. Oh, hang on...

Come on City...get in.
<a class="postlink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Carolina_Tar_Heels_women's_soccer" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Caro ... n's_soccer</a>

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.goheels.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPID=12982&SPSID=667900" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.goheels.com/SportSelect.dbml ... SID=667900</a>

City need to speak to UNC and see about offering junior year abroad options for any girls at university in the UK that are on City's books. In our case, assuming a 3 year degree, an English girl on City's books at university in England would spend her 2nd year at UNC at least on the Tar Heels squad, and continuing to work toward her degree. Of course the UK university would have to be on-board. Getting in with UNC would be a great way to recruit talent from the US and engage in training exchanges.

I know someone on here is going to be interested in this, the roster:
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.goheels.com/SportSelect.dbml?SITE=UNC&DB_OEM_ID=3350&SPID=12982&SPSID=668177" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.goheels.com/SportSelect.dbml ... SID=668177</a>

If you look down the right, you'll see where the girls are from. You'll notice a number that read "CASL 94 Chelsea ladies". That's a problem. CASL is the Capital Area Soccer League and Chelsea got involved a few years ago. CASL is basically the area around the capital, Raleigh. Chapel Hill is just west of Raleigh. If City are serious, they need to catch up. You cannot be taken seriously if you look at the US and do nothing in (central) North Carolina. As far as the men's game, it'd be like saying you're not interested in setting-up a scouting network in South America.

Genuinely looking forward to seeing a few women's games on a decent pitch; the GB/England matches at league games have been watchable and City should be at that level now.

Shame there's not info (I've seen) on fixtures/venues yet on OS.

Yeah it's too cold for them in the Winter. Saying that, they want to out a cardigan in the Summer if there's a slight breeze.

Surely it would be better to link up with

<a class="postlink" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_Blue_FC" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_Blue_FC</a>

That said, City have already hinted that they intend to create a women's team affiliated to NYCFC.

Where has that thread gone?

That thread was pulled and somebody got a week's ban for their trouble. Let me repost something PB and I put in the last thread that asked where it went.

You do realise that she'd come straight from work and those are her work clothes? She works for the rags' equivalent of CITC and does some great work in Trafford Schools, mainly Broadoak and its feeder primaries. Anyone who does community work has my respect. And she's a Coventry City fan actually.

Took me about 2 minutes to find all that out but most just jumped to the assumption that she was a rag taking the piss. Some of the comments in that thread were disgraceful.

This person is referring to a member of the Women's team who somehow deserved to be called "a slag" amongst other things because she also happened to work at the United community football program and somebody took a picture.

This is what happens when you have a bunch of people who don't understand grassroots football and how it it works with all of the staff working wherever they can to improve their game and outreach.

I'm locking this topic because if I don't I'm going to start banning every **** who decides that women footballers are objects that they can own or people who we as a forum should instigate a bullying campaign over as they were snapped using a Manchester United badge.

I'm not even kidding with describing how little patience we have over this issue.

MCFC Women exist and they aren't there for your masturbational pleasure. They are a legitimate member of the City family who deserve the same respect as anybody else, and I'll be fucked if I see you guys reduce an extremely promising women team to a bunch of playboy models.

You can also take a warning for that "stupid woman" remark, just to help understand that this is something that we're actually bothered about.
