Does it not stop the chance that away fans (and in some cases away nutters) will just buy the tickets from the twitter account.

By making people go through Viagogo then the club can try to guarantee that genuine city fans are getting the tickets (by the fact you have to have blue membership) and not a bunch of rival fans that have the potential to be dotted around the ground and cause issues?

Just another perspective mind.
Nothing stopping said away fans buying a blue membership.

I can see the logic in City pulling a Twitter ticket account, given that any old Random can claim to be Blue and get in the wrong end. City have to deal with the consequences. But if Blue membership is required to buy on Viagogo then it should be a straight fan to fan exchange, for games that are sold out, not to line Viagogo's pockets with a batch of tickets that should go to fans AT FACE VALUE.

Correct but it is an extra £10 and one more hoop to jump through.

On the ticket exchange, tickets were sold in ones and twos when they came up if you're an away fan (nutter) surely the best thing to do would be buy a group of tickets for yourself and fellow nutters then cause problems from there?

Channel4 did a good documentary on Viagogo and they found what we are seeing here. Yes, it's a ticket exchange for fans but Viagogo also get a batch of tickets off promoters (City in this case) to sell at inflated prices. That's why the best seats at arenas never ever go on public sale.

I could live with supporters coming late to the party, buying the odd ticket and being charged a premium. What's not nice to see is that people have to be City members to get these tickets. Thats just milking us for profit.
Guessing the contract was already signed before that documentary remember it myself didn't paint viagogo in a good light

I have sold tickets on twitter twice and I know its easy for people to pretend to be someone they are not but if you have a look at their profile the giveaway is usually the fact they have been on twitter a while with loads of posts about city loads of city followers and pictures with city stuff on. I would rather pay £10 for blue membership that go to that much effort

they could do this by selling them at the standard price on the official website. I hate to criticise city but this clearly isn't on.

I used viagogo first game as i was still away on holiday but took the ticket down within 5 minutes of posting when i realised the absolutely disgraceful terms.
I then put it on the bluemoon forum and sold it less than face value

Quick update:

The bigger problem in this is that City appear to be selling blocks of tickets to Viagogo, and thus the MEN are running a story on this tomorrow.

If you could all sign this petition that'd be top.

absolutely disgraceful, never thought that city would stoop so low.

supporting our supporters.

"but only when we are shit"

Signed.

Hope the club take any criticism they get from this viagogo debacle on board.
