Media bias against City

Tony Towers 1974 when he went to Sunderland as part of the Tueart, Horsewill deal.

I am struggling to think of an example which reinforces my point. I do not think a players chances of playing for England would be adversely affected by representing Manchester City.

If anything the exposure to big games, european nights would probably increase the likelihood of being picked. Similarly for other big clubs.

To answer your question yes signing for United has been detrimental to his progress

Still I am not sure of the relevance

You are perfectly aware of the relevance of what Bill said but just dont want to admit it.

I will play along though. Have the rags been castigated in the media for ruining the lads career?

Frank honestly if you don't get the relavence of his post maybe you should just quit while you are behind because thats an embarressing response from you. Was it you who said that you had never heard of Walton the other day?

just a question to the doubters.

did united ruin Zaha's progress/career?

just askin.
couple of points re Zaha
  1. Never near the England set up till his transfer to the greatest team in the world
  2. Immediate call up and game as soon as transfer announced
  3. Hardly played for the scum, loaned back to original team
  4. Rightly now not picked for England
  5. Sold back to Palace
  6. No castigation in the fawning press whatsoever

I have no doubt that playing for certain clubs helps get players in the England setup. A lot of that has to do with media pressure, and them talking up some players and talking down others.

Wouldnt surprise me to see Milners international chances improve. Hodgson has never met a Liverpool player he won't give game time to.

And if that was us doing that we would of got absolutely slaughtered in the press but because it was the rags hardly anything was said about it. The agenda is there to see. Some people just need to open their eyes

It is sad you cannot see the difference between the two circumstances and I am not going to point it out as I will only get accused of being a rag.

Young english players have not come through the academy at City for years and sadly players like Rodwell and Sinclairs careers have stalled. Personally I am happy to see the best Europe and South America has to offer but you would have to be pretty blind to think it has been a good breeding ground for young english players.

As I have said before I don't believe that there is an agenda i.e. planned bias but there is clearly a bias and the reasons are monetary.

For instance in the media I see that Milner was offered £165,000 by City this is now accepted as read but why? He hasn't said anything, he doesn't have an agent and City haven't said anything yet there it is. But wait he signs for Liverpool, for less money, cue gloating Liverpool fans clicking sites to read the news to make them feel good. Has anyone seen any quotes about signing on fees? Does anyone really think that he hasn't received a signing on fee? Why hasn't this been reported maybe because they might not want to read about that

I now see that City have offered £30m for Sterling and City have started a bidding war. Yet the offer was initially reported as £25m plus £5M add ons in two days time the bid will be reported as £50m plus £300K per week. This type of reporting maintains the media pampering to the masses of City bad clicks, Liverpool, United and Arsenal good clicks

I do rise above it but sometimes I just get really frustrated by it as I know that at somepoint somewhere someone will state "City are trying to buy the league again"

This. This is exactly what happens and its fookin annoying.
All because of money and yet that's UTD spending a qtr of a BILLION and being lauded by the likes of talk sport for getting 4th.

Not once have I heard 'buying the league' or 'should be winning the league having spent all that' or 'inflating the market' or any of the other shit that we are targeted with despite spending a paltry amount of late.
