Okay, that's fair enough, but was there also an open letter addressed to Di Maria about how bad a move it is? (http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/open-letter-raheem-sterling-liverpool-6054005) or a constant stream of people with increasingly strenuous connections to the player coming out and slamming the player/abusing the new club?

I have read that article and in my opinion it does not read as you suggest. Yes many Liverpool pundits have been in the press moaning and similarly the likes of Ollie Holt, Jimmy Bullard, John Terry, the metro article I linked earlier were stating a move to City would be good for Raheem. It is swings and roundabouts, some positive some negative.

I take it as you have linked the Mirror you think this paper is anti-City? If so, does that include Simon Mullock? If you find people writing negatively about us challenge it pal, if it is a load of rubbish, as without question poorly wriiten and lazy journalism is written about us.

Do you know why we jumped to that conclusion? Have you not had a look around the various media outlets today? The reporting on this deal has pretty much been exclusively how we're being ripped off and how Liverpool have got the deal of the century. I'm sure you'll scour the Internet to pluck the odd article that isn't derogatory but then I'd expect nothing less from you.
Also the fact that Ric had a national paper ask him his thoughts on the Sterling deal only to tell him that what he had to say "wasn't the angle" they were looking at. It's plain as the nose on your face how poorly City are dealt with by the tabloids, Sky and TalkSport, yet we have lads like you putting your fingers in your ears, closing your eyes and going on as if nothing untoward is going on.

So it was the newspapers fault you threw a load of half baked accusations at SKY without a shred of evidence? It seems today and that embarrassing thread has taught you nothing.

Nope, it was just another example of varios media using underhand tactics to paint City in a bad light. We know Talksport have used Utd fans in the past pretending to be blues. We know that when the pictures were released of a couple of City fans burning a Tevez shirt they weren't actually City fans and we know that Sky on the whole don't give us anywhere near the credit we deserve.

It getting deleted promptly was the only saving grace. I tried to highlight there was no evidence of sky involvement from the outset but I could see it was a futile gesture and would only result in a volley of abuse. It was depressing watching the momentum of the thread gathering pace.

Like I have said from the outset there are reporters who write negatively about us, I have never disputed this but it is millions of miles away from being an agenda. Without Sky, the global exposure, the TV deal and SKYs support when the club was on its uppers I very much doubt we would have the Sheiks involvement at the club.

When was the last time a paper totaled up an entire contract and put it as the headline for a signing who not only has the wage not been released but a deal hasn't even been finalised yet?

Pretty much every time we sign someone sadly.

With regard to the Mirror, I stopped buying that years ago when they faked the pictures prisoners being abused during the Gulf conflict. Seems they havn't developed any reporting skills or an abillity to check facts during the intervening years.
