Interesting that Sky's viewing figures for the CL were apparently well down (by 38%) over the last five seasons. Last season saw the rags not in the competition and Liverpool not in it the few seasons before last.
That's quite interesting as it strongly suggests viewing figures are heavily linked to the participation & success of English clubs, particularly the rags and Liverpool.
Now normally you'd expect Sky to big up those two and have a huge commercial interest in doing their best to make sure both those clubs got to and did well in the CL.
But with BT taking over the coverage, you'd imagine Sky would be more interested in screwing BT over and ensuring (as far as it could) that neither got to the group stages if possible.
Be interesting to see just how many dodgy decisions go against those two clubs this season.
