Media bias against City

BBC local news just on mentioned a few of the locals who got New Years honours ! A picture of a smiling Dennis outside the swamp then references to a couple of others . Guessed who they missed out ??

The Sheikh put the best people in charge at City and this management team think 10 years ahead and line up the building blocks well ahead of time so we get there.
A case in point is the Academy. Anyone who could be bothered to find out about what we were doing could find out - but did they do anything about it? Did they understand the implications of what we were doing? No. Suddenly the rags and others now realise that all the best talent is now coming to us and are screaming that it's unfair. Stamping and shouting about anything won't make a difference. You either match what the Sheikh is doing or you get swept away in the torrent of success that follows.
The same will happen to everything else we do. We look at the long term we put things in place for the long term.
Our opposition either competes or gets swept away in the future by what we are doing today.
Why anyone seriously thinks the City hierarchy can be bothered with the knob head journalists jumping up and down spouting rubbish in the press is beyond me. These Journalists are like flies on shit - here today and gone tomorrow. They currently feed off the biggest piles of shit out there. Tomorrow they will feed of the biggest piles of shit. Tomorrow they calculate that we will be delivering the biggest piles of shit so more and more they will dance to our tune.
The whole media circus is Irrelevant to the big picture. Indeed if City were to do something it may make people interested in what City are doing that City don't want folks looking into as it has an impact way down the line.
Now, don't get me wrong people in power who show no respect to the Sheikh and his family ARE dealt with but not directly. True power brokers will use their connections (see all the pictures above) with a nod here a wink there. Information will be gathered and passed on when necessary to the right people but the Sheikh will not be connected with it in any way.
This is international business & power politics. Read "'The Prince" by Niccolò Machiavelli if you want to know how this world works...

Platini ??

That's interesting! Who knows?

BlueAnorak is right, we might get pissed off with the way the media cover City, BT Sport was paricularly bad during the Leicester game, but the Sheikh and Khaldoon operate on another level.

I just wish Khaldoon would come down the Summerbee bar after a match, drink a coke and buy me a pint and tell me all about it.

Platini ??
He has made himself more then enough enemies over the years for City to be anywhere near the top of the suspect list.
Now Uli Hoeness on the other hand.... Bayern were very loud in there opposition to City a few years ago. Since Uli went to jail they've been relatively quiet towards us. Even with Pep saying adios to Bayern this summer they've been very quiet - which I find very strange indeed. No, not strange, dumbfounded is more the word I'd use.

im a bit grumpy this morning, but all the whinging is getting to me a bit today :).

we've a fucking bright future, our academy is starting to bear fruits slowly but surely, our owner has just tied us to the Chinese govt ,we have a tremendous ground, a team to die for(for us) a team and club of our dreams, yet people are still unhappy, call me a happy clapper all you want, but the way I see it ,you don't know how good it is until you've tasted the shit times, this is only the start of a very long and exciting journey, some people are that entitled they want thing now or its shit, they come across as spoilt fuckers, were getting there ,one step at a time ,I mean fuck , if you believe the rumours or the itk we will have our brilliant club, in a brilliant ground , owned by possible the best most insightful(?) owners managed by one of the most sort after managers in world football.

what the fuck is there to whinge about.
Amstel on draught tastes like it's been pissed in... Other than that spot on brother

if you want to be read negativity then look no further than blue moon, the place is dripping with whinging fuckers, shit badge, shit players, shit ground, shit kit,ect ect ect,its becoming very tiresome ,its not surprising the press give us shit, they look at our own forum and take it from here ,I used to think city fans were the best in the world, all I see now it negatives.

3rd in the league
semi of the cc cup
threw to the knockouts of the cl

brilliant ground
brilliant owners
brilliant youth set up
and yet people still whinge

Mate, when I first started posting on here any sniveler would be shouted down and fucked off quickly. Now most of us have just given up. We are outnumbered by glory hunting cunts. I blame the internet.

It is never going to happen, I'd ask all Blues to look at who owns our club, really look at them.

'Sheikh Mansour and Khaldoon Al Mubarak are intensely conservative to the core.'

I am intensely conservative too but will defend my club to the end. I might not have invested quite as much as our owners but they ain't invested 60 years of their life and a significant amount disposable money to City either. I am sure they have the wherewithal to ensure better press for City.

I try the odd time in the match thread to give a bit of reason and perspective but tbh it is a plaster to a shotgun wound.

I think a few of us would be more settled if they accepted this season we are not getting the rock solid team that will destroy all in it's path brilliant squad or not.
If some can stop dwelling on that dawning reality it is not even bad. We are in the mix with clubs we thought we may be pulling away from by now due to our squad strength.

Ssshh you'll annoy the flappers, stop talking sense.

If, as you say, they have the wherewithal to do it and yet they clearly don't, then why is that the case?

They should use people further down their chain to do this sort of stuff. No one seems to go for 'hearts and minds' because in the minds of millions in this country and abroad City have a bad reputation in many ways. Potential sponsors must see this too.
If the likes of Ferguson can manipulate the media why cannot we? Brian Barwick said that when he was a big wig at BBC Sport that Ferguson would be on the phone first thing every Monday when United had not been first match shown on MOTD. Barwick left the Beeb in 1998 so United were not the power they later became when Ferguson was using his influence all over the place.
