He said Arse moved in to second level on points with City, I txt the show to say they are third on GD they are now saying they have a good chance of finishing second for first time in 10 years! Just like when we were joint top they reported that Chelsea remain top even though it was alphabetical

On Radio 4 it was straightforward "...moved into 2nd..." no mention of City
Shit like this doesn't really matter, though. There are much more sinister, pernicious forces at work in our media than simple factual errors like this. That is the real enemy.
It does matter.

The graph that shows us second on New Year's Day is the one that really does my head in coupled with comments
about how good Chelsea were at the start of the season. It implies that they eased off after Christmas with the title
already in the bag.

No mention of the city youngsters winning a trophy tonight in the mail, if that had been the rags or Chelsea kids it would have been the main story tonight.

I don't think it would though, really. Regardless of who won it, it's just not that big a story.

Any talk of an agenda should be focussed purely on FFP, because that is where the true conspiracy lies. Perceived slights in the press on relatively innocuous matters cheapen the argument. Many of the complaints in this thread smack of paranoia and pettiness. We're in danger, as fans, of losing sight of the real target of our ire - namely FFP.

The win was mentioned and the team congratulated on Sky Sports.

Doesn't cheapen the argument, enforces it. City are consistently perceived as bad boys. The others are the "big four" and it's not fair City have invaded.

This

I really couldn't give a flying fuck what others think of us as it only reinforces the fear thry feel. Between 1982 - 2008 we've been mostly shit & all we were was a laughing stock, but did that stop the media & others ridiculing us as if we were the local Village idiots?

I'd rather the 'agenda' than ridicule any day. We should not allow ourselves to be distracted from the real agenda of FFP & its here where we should concentrate our anger, fire & efforts.

Oh give over, that's why we have the ffp thread. I love this thread, nowt wrong with a bit of Dunkirk spirit, us versus the rest of the world. It's interesting to see how we are perceived by various media. Is it an agenda or just paranoia? I don't know, most probably a bit of both, what I do know though is this thread is great.
.. Tin hat back on....
