Media bias against City

The Independent match report made me laugh. Apparently, Pellegrini's first trophy was a "fortuitously won league cup..." Yep, that would be the same cup run where we scored 22 goals and conceded just 2. If that's fortuitous then I really hope we "fortuitously" win it again!!

I noticed that too. I hadn't worked out how inaccurate it was.

But later down the page the headline reads "MANCHESTER CITY RUN RIOT... BUT DID SO WITHOUT AN ENGLISH PLAYER IN THEIR STARTING XI"

And they mention Kev's transfer fee literally every time his name gets typed.

You mean like UTD's England players, all fucking useless, missing penalties etc?!!!!!!

I noticed on the BBC website yesterday, on the Capital One Cup page, yesterday's games were listed similar to this: "In action tonight are Manchester United, City and Liverpool." This is a minor gripe, but why in that order? If alphabetical, it would be Liverpool first and United last. If in order of league ranking, City should have been first. If in order of the magnitude of the game, surely the two all Premier League ties should have preceded United v Boro. The only reason the impartial BBC should list United's game first, is because they are not after all, impartial.

Have you a link mate?

Was it that rag cockroach Ian Herbert again?

Hate that ****. Really do.

My earliest memories of him were switching on BBC breakfast in our hotel room the morning after we lost the FA Cup final, and he was a guest as their 'Northern football correspondent". Described Wigan's win as a "victory for football", the implication being we were immoral. Two football clubs, one moral and the other immoral?

Really got under my fucking skin that, felt like a massive kick in the balls from someone who's supposed to be impartial.

Kept a eye out for him after that, found his Twitter feed and noticed he had photos of the Etihad during a game he was reporting on, making comments about empty seats.

Then there have been his inaccurate, wholly biased, piss poor excuse for journalism, articles in the Independent.

Hate the ****.

Hope he gets piles and they turn gangrenous. ****. Would be a victory for journalism.

Beautifully put, but no. It was some parasite called Tim Rich (twitter @timrich001)

Not sure if comment goes here but are the press suggesting Shrek missed his pen because laser made him green? I thought make had just rubbed off

Once again the Daily Fail has accessed it's limited photo archive.

Says it all really when the opening gambit by the commentary team on C5 as City take to the field is ' certainly not a full house tonight,

I agree. I was wondering how long it would take him to mention it but it was literally the first thing he said. He couldn't contain himself. The other thing that got me were the camera shots showing the third tiers that we don't normally get from right at the back of the stand. I don't know why some people continue to deny the bias when it's so blatant and consistent. Liverpool got just over 1,000 more. In fact we got more than anybody else on either night apart from the rags 659 million (TBC) and the red dippers. It's beyond childish now.

I politely tweeted the author of this ahem journalism and enquired how he concluded that City were "fortuitous". He has actually replied which must be a first. He claims that "Sunderland could and should have won the game". Now as I recall we were crap in the first half but we improved dramatically in the 2nd and in the end we won by a clear two goal margin. So that is fortune is it Tim? ok if you say so

We always had it in us to go up a gear that day, which we duly did. Nasri's goal is about as mental as I've gone at a game apart from QPR. And all that sink pissing too. Good times.

You certainly did my friend and you werent alone, we were struggling to catch our breath after as well, it certainly went absolutely mental around us, 2 worldies so close together was a little bit too much to handle ;-)

Hardly a mention of City in the press since Wednesday (The Mails Kelchi story aside). Looks like the hacks have got together and decided to give us the silent treatment again.

Is this the Rugby League town Wigan who made it to and stayed in the Premier League for a decent while on gates of 10000 and less without that hypocrite Whelan bankrolling it? I assume that similar size clubs with a real feel for football would not agree with this pricks comments?

Am I missing all the "worst ever champions" features on Sky this season? The season after we first won the league you could barely escape it. Seemed to die a quiet death after Moyes.

Funny, that.
