Might be the best selling but, like all papers, they are fast becoming a complete irrelevance. They are also haemorrhaging readers at an alarming rate. In 2011 they sold over 3M copies every day. This year they are selling 1.7M. Their time has been and gone and I, for one, will not lament their passing.

The Sun still boss the way when it comes to online views of its daily publication i imagine,and that is where its undoubted influence amongst dullard footy fans still remains depressingly significant.

The sooner the BBC are made to finance their joke of an organization by showing adverts the better. Fuck the license fee off once and for all.

I've come across fans of other clubs at cup finals, on holiday, at away games who are clearly not hostile towards our money and success in any way whatsoever. I've spoken to fans of Stoke Sunderland WestHam Swansea WestBrom Chelsea QPR Norwich... who all still quite like City and they just view us as the same club but just richer. I think all this "the media brainwash the nation against us" is utter bollocks. You get the dullards who are daft enough to ring up radio stations and tweet SSN and all that who needn't be taken notice of because they're thick enough to listen to things like talkSPORT and read newspapers and take them seriously, but those who know what's-what, well, they know what's-what! and we've always had big rivals so their hostility towards us had never changed, it's just magnified now we mean something when it comes to the trophy end of the seasons.

I dare say that a lot of fans will treat you fairly decently face to face and discuss football issues sensibly, then well adopt a different stance behind your back. The stereotypical view of City is quite predictable and there are so many fans ranting on internet that the age old 'fake sponsorship' / 'cooking the books' / 'team of mercenaries' / 'lost a lot of soul' accusations will always crop up.

It's staggering how many people buy into media propaganda - including ourselves. The pundits and commentators exacerbate the problem because they buy into things too - When they go to Anfield and need something to say, they choose the 'famous atmosphere'. When they are at City, they talk a little bit about the good work the owners are doing - but since they have no real depth of knowledge on that subject, they quickly revert to what they do best - 'some empty seats', 'should be doing better' etc. They aren't necessarily invalid comments they are making, but they've just become incredibly lazy and churn out tired old lines for the sake of it.

Only the other day during the England game, someone mentioned Navas had been keeping Sterling out of a place at City - it was simply lazy (non-existent) research which is aired on national tv. It's very pervasive.

It isn't just us suffering though - we're just one of many caught up in cyclic nature of 'build 'em up then knock 'em down' journalism - particularly prevalent in the UK.

Interesting that BBC Sport have a piece on "Man City lose to Bayern in Guardiola's first game in charge" on the main page. I don't recall seeing the headline "Chelsea lose to Rapid Vienna in Conte's first game in charge"?
