Media Bias

Haha have you listened to yourselves!!!

You state facts! More likely you state drivel that you state as fact! All i know is that ive seen lots of rags equivalents of the 'every goal matters' promotion and not one aguero one, that is a 'fact'

SKY and the premier league dont want a stale product,? well what do you think we have had for the last 20 years? For every season since we've gained some money we've had new policies aimed at preventing us using the financial muscle we have. This isnt stuff we've created in our own minds these are 'facts' and even now we're reading about similar financial restrictions in the premier league

Lets not forget that according to the rags the ''fact' is that 650 million people around the globe follow the rags, that's 1 in 10 of the population, and whilst there were many opposition fans celebrating our premier league win in the UK you clearly forget that premier league football has globalised.

You also forget that the rags are on a financial precipice any period without any success would see revenues drop and the rags in serious trouble, that would not be good for sky or the premier leagues reputation.

But you guys keep revelling in your anti-city support

There's one of these on the corner of Oldham and Newmarket Road in Ashton but there's nothing but Rag in every picture.

Seems Sky are following the hardcore Rag advertising stance set by the Glazer's, they seriously know where their marketing lies.

Has anybody seen a City version?

I think the rag pub the Waterloo wanted that billboard facing them

De Niro, you obviously are blind to the fact that A), for every United poster there is a SPurs, Arsenal and CITY poster and B) that every single Sky campaign for the new season has been about the Aguero goal. It's funny how you post a picture of the United billboard to support your pie in the sky agenda theory. Why didn't you post a City one to counter it? I believe you are in Denton, yes? Surely there are posters there, there are plenty in N/Manc where I live. Maybe 'they' think Denton is a United place..

tbh not even looked/ noticed. i was just sat in traffic (as per in denton) and i saw this.

there is 100% agenda. nothing will conince me of anything else. its too obvious.

I conclude that you're missing them on purpose then, most likely because you're hell-bent on looking for the United ones to prove there is an agenda. There are just as many Aguero ones as there are Spurs, united and any others too. Also, as i've already said, Sky's TV and Radio ads were basically purely about Aguero and his goal, nothing else. I would imagine you've not heard or seen them though too?

Their ultimate aim according to you was to stop us winning the league last year
How did that end up?

Out of interest, and for factual content, how do you know these were printed in equal measure; as we're on the Rafa waggon at the moment?

NB. This is not paranoia/bias/agenda based.

Because why wouldn't there be? Infact, seeing as we are the Champions and now a massive draw, I wouldn't be surprised if there were more City ones dotted about than United, especially seeing as they have 'that' goal on ours, which of course has been their ad plug alll summer, (Tyler's soundbite). Like I say though, why wouldn't there be?

I think, to be fair, the number of posters was raised by DD who said they had been produced in equal numbers - and this was described as a fact. Seems perfectly reasonable to question that fact, in the same way the "facts" of the other side can be questioned. That is debate.

From what I can see, it is part of being a fan to be suspicious of the media, the FA, the referees and they way your club is treated/portrayed. Perfectly normal fan behaviour, and all fans of all clubs do it. So, what is the problem with people wanting to discuss it here?

It's a bit like that dreadful programme on Sky on Sunday. The advice seems to be: if it gets to you, don't watch it. Well I would suggest the same here: if discussions of bias get to you, don't read them and don't respond, because they are never going to go away.

Where's the agenda bias in this question? Pidge was stating facts to back-up his debate, one where he states everybody is deluded, paranoid or in another world with the fairies.

But while you're there, why are you even bothering? Think about it, these people you are claiming to be mentally unstable are obviously not going to change their minds because certain individuals live in that perfect utopian world where everything is visible and competely honest.

But you know that, so why bother?

And so it should be. I personally have no problems, or interest, with how many posters are made or not. The truth is though, that they will not just print equal posters, they will have checked out demographic figures relating to club support and strategically placed them in order to capture the widest audience. Now, if that audience of armchair supporters is greater in a given area then that's how the posters will be styled, ie. the reason why one in Ashton-Under-Lyne (Oldham Road) is pure United.

My view that it isn't about agenda/bias because of the club, it's purely about money; selling the brand to the customer. This is the same for most media outlets, getting their wares in the punters hand, whether that be for the actual immediate sale or for the adverts that they are paid for.

United have given them this for years, we have been a support act. Now though, we can be marketed alongside them and therefore creates more stories/interest, especially after our Fergie Time heroics.

As I said, it's simple economics (unless it's certain journo's getting hot under the collar) that drives the United bandwaggon. This comes across as bias and as a City fan it's easier to spot. Does that make City fans deluded or paranoid? I think not, it makes them human and shows how much they care for their club. A natural instinct that has been there since the dawn of time.

People loving their club, who'd have thought it.
