How much have they valued Willo Flood at?

If you exclude the supposed £90m increase in the value of Sancho then there's only £15m difference between the 2 sets of figures for all the players.

Total non story, where they've refused to accept comments because they know they'd be shot down in flames with their claims and figures.

Even if you don't, players tend to get better in their first few years, and it generally be expected that their value would rise.

I was amused by 27M for Denayer seemed fairly enthusiastic, based on playing half the league matches for Lyon this season.

The academy is doing exactly what it was designed to do. It’s basically another value stream. If it turns up the odd Foden along the way all the better.
This is it... Look at it more as a stud farm... We will be doing well if we can get a player every 5 years to come into the 1st team squad and hold their own... The level is that high
Foden, Sancho and Diaz was one of those freak occurances where you could argue that all 3 were good enough, unfortunately for us we will never know with the latter 2

Talking of shite from the press, why the fuck are the bbc writing about the rags treble of 99 instead of ours from the weekend!!?

You’s are seen as the anti christ who broke up the media’s love in for the original power 4! Love that you’s are dominating and the media just can’t stand it haha!

Precisely the wrong time in macro currents to become mediocre. Media desperately trying to keep them relevant for a new generation who missed their past glory; have to maintain the brand in a rich-get-richer moment for fear of being left behind. Fashioning a storied-club-in-need-of-return narrative for them to attract/keep global audience. I think there’s a genuine fear of a generational loss for them.

Conn has another article in the Guardian today about each clubs finances in 2017/18. Not a judgemental one although the £1.3bn injection over 10 years gets a mention!

Our turnover was 2nd highest behind the rags but wages were 3rd behind rags and Liverpool.

1.3bn is still only around 60% of the money he made from his sale of Barclays shares!

The transfer table is interesting (since Pep arrived). They have sales as 134.4m and the current player values at 239.5m.

They have Sancho valued at 100m which is a myth, so that's the difference right there. They've also not factored in the loan fees we have received for the players (many have been on loan before selling) and the sell-on clauses in the contracts.

Let's compare to United who let Pogba go for free and bought him back for 90m and 300k a week. Or signed Sanchez for 30m and pay him 400k+ a week for 4.5 years.

The Mail know the Dipps, Rags, Chavs etc will lap it up though.

It's funny how nobody ever looks at our current squad in that way; comparing cost to current value.

I suspect the ratio would be very similar to the academy players we've lost, but at much higher absolute numbers.
