Yes, exactly that. Nothing wrong with him or anyone else taking the piss, it cannot be that people respond with outrage every single time someone does that, it looks pathetically precious.

Ogden and Ducker are examples of those who absolutely do try to extract a negative wherever possible, but it would be wrong to consider gentle teasing from everyone else as part of a campaign.

Jeremy Vine does what was the Wright Stuff on C5 in the mornings,this was a talking point,he is a chelsea fan and was saying we should have stopped scoring and not smirked when we did,3 women on the panel,one also a chav fan and she knew her stuff and shot him down as did the other 2,a burton fan rang in and was ok about it and it was a treat to see our players,a manager from a club in wales rang in and said the got walloped 25-0 in a derby,it's how you learn,you can't patronise the team getting thumped by stopping playing,he was crestfallen,bless

I think Lineker's ok and imo his tweet wasn't meant with rancour, even if it was a little hackneyed. I think some City fans have become so ground down by the excessive swipes over the last decade that they are unable to respond proportionately to a bit of gentle piss-taking, which is a shame because we used to have skins as thick as any other in football.

For me, Ogden' s comments were far more telling. They did, however, unintentionally descend into the comically absurd and must rank alongside "aggressive walking" and "not in my lifetime" for entertainment value and will endure as such.

Lineker thinks he's a fucking comedian, but he's just one more idiot wandering the BBC wasteland. He hides trite, nasty comments behind smug grins and wide eyes. He's spun it so people think he's harmless little Gary big ears, and behind that disguise he behaves like a cûnt.
