Media coverage 2018/19

I'm rather enjoying the "outing" of sports "journalists" for the partisan club fans that they really are. We all had a good idea before, but our emergence has brought them out in the full, unashamed, glorious prejudice of their allegiance.

And that's good because once you've exposed yourself as simply a propaganda mouthpiece for a given club, any residual credibility you may have had there is no going back. We're doing a great job.

We just need to accept that most journalists aren't City fans, so we won't get as much praise as we'd like. Worse than that, the majority of them are probably scousers or rags, or cockneys, none of whom have any love for us.

Most decent football fans and neutrals acknowledge how good we are, that's more meaningful than the inane ramblings of bitter hacks and random bellends on social media.

Don't think it matters a jot as to who they support.

This is to me, solely about clicks and generating interest in their papers, website, blog and in some cases...themselves.

We're being used to fund others, whilst we foam at the mouth, whilst clicking on the links anyway.

Vicious circle!

"Like it or not, they're not just a big club, they're a massive club.... They own the media, they have a huge worldwide fanbase because people are mostly sheep wanting to be part of something, so they put on a Liverpool shirt and think other sheep will like them...or their old man was a Liverpool fan because he was a glory hunter as a kid... Most Liverpool fans don't even watch them regularly, but when there's a sniff of a trophy they come out from under that rock wearing the newest kit and whatever other merch they see...
No matter what Man City do over the next few years, they'll never get near Liverpool as a club.... They could win 10 Premier leagues in a row, but the one Liverpool then finally win will be a bigger deal in the media (and so the world) because Liverpool have the fanbase (and everyone can make money off it)"

"Man City got nothing like this exposure after doing the treble....says it all really."

"That aside it's only an extra 2 games.... They (wisely unlike Man City) didnt take the League Cup and FA cup seriously this season and won't next year either.... So it will have no impact on the league challenge.... If City had blown off those 2 competitions too, they'd be Premier league and Champions league winners right now.."

From Everton forums, those guys have to put up with this shit so much more... Even the Liverpool council have declared themselves "Reds". Nice to know others can see the bias. At some point I expect City to become heroes in stopping this media sponsored club.
Last paragraph in particular makes sense to me.
You say correctly that they are a media sponsored club, the financial value of this must be enormous and the detrimental value of the media campaign against City will also have a value.
Apparently the cartel sponsored uefa have little trouble estimating what fair values for official sponsors are so I wonder if they are "misleading" City and all other PL teams if they disregard this unofficial sponsorship?

Maybe not the grunts, but when the chief editors and head sports correspondants are also unabashedly biased ****s that becomes a problem.

This is my complaint to Sky:
"SSN are currently showing a dubbed video of Javier Tebas from La Liga calling the Manchester City chairman ‘ignorant’ but with no video of Khaldoon Al Mubarak’s actual comments to present its viewers with a balanced story. Tebas’ lie that Barcelona & Real Madrid have never faced UEFA sanctions is broadcast without challenge as is his false claim that Spanish clubs have never benefitted from state subsidy. The Spanish League is arguably the most corrupt in major European football and Senor Tebas is both its representative and an utterly discredited and self-proclaimed enemy of the Premier League in general and Man City in particular. Yet more blatant anti-Man City bias from Sky pandering to your preferred audience demographic of Man Utd and Liverpool supporters."
Two apologies - I like Joan - sounds like a City fan ;)

Our old friend Nik McGeehan has been called out on Twitter and responded like usual.

Unfortunately for old Nick, this time the person he picked a fight with is not a random City fan but one of the most high profile Human rights Lawyers in Eruope...

That'll be DR McGeehan to you, as he was very keen to point out on Twitter just now, the self-important prick. Very funny to read him patronising Mark Stephens ("You don't appear to know much about this") only then to be comprehensively schooled.

Keeping it relevant when no-one really gives a shit to be honest, unless your in the cult

It depressed the whole country except Arsenal fans I guess. Everyone hates them, which given the amount of positive press they receive compared to our negative is pretty remarkable.

Perhaps already posted but can anyone verify seeing this live (it looks like it is Sky’s studio setup)?

It will change round in 20 years hopefully when we get a few young city fans in and around the media.
Can see it now the year is 2039 and United have won their first title since 2013 but it’s been mainly ignored in the media as they celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fourmidables
