I might sound petty but the first line on the BBC football news re: yesterdays games was that un**ed had beaten Villa to move into 6th or wherever followed by arses victory over West Ham to move into second. Well I know which result I consider to have more current relevance....
They always put shock results first.

Be warned the BBC running a story “Man United are now “hunting down” all their rivals”.
Well my take is that the wankers are evidently still behind “all” their “rivals” and it also begs the question what are they hunting….. a set of Thursday night fixtures ffs
The media in this country are going to be the death of the rags.

This is the beautiful irony behind their desperation for them to challenge at the highest level.

The media have got no idea of the damage they're doing to the rag's chances of competing with the likes of MCFC, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Sheffield United.

The rags have been punching above their weight for over ten years now and are essentially a mid table outfit with outrageous expectations to finish higher.

In my opinion (for what it's worth) the best thing that club could do is give up the pretence that they're anything other than an average outfit, drop down the league and flirt with relegation (to get the media off their scent) and reinvent themselves as a progressive football club.

I'm getting a little concerned that we are on the eve of a knock out CL game and there hasn't been some big negative news story break about Pep leaving, FFP, Haaland leaving etc..
Delooney has just wrote in the independent how the champs league is now predictable and lost it's magic. ****.

Does anyone else secretly admire the British media for their steadfast support of the rags and their unwavering optimism that one day they'll get it right?

Can you imagine the commitment it must take to flog that horse every season only to be let down by them and continue to put a positive spin on it for them?

I agree that it's lost something. Same with the Premier League.

Just a shame these articles weren't being written twenty five years ago, when we could all see it coming, and there was still time to do something about it.

The new one now listening to Pep having to talk to the gutter press is all about poor body language esp Haaland. Funny how they never bring body language up with the Rags press conferences re RatFace, Rashford etc

Broadly agree with his conclusion but none of the reasoning. Cartel clubs want to protect revenue from broadcasts and sponsors hence champions league groups etc. The new format is more of the same. European Cup should be open draw knock out. If you get real Madrid and lose tough, if you play crap and lose to tampere tough. Scrap FFP Would be a start
