Apparently we pass the ball too much and don’t appreciate Phil Foden.

After a quality performance against a tough, inform team, this is an embarrassing match report. I shouldn’t be surprised but it really fkn annoys me.

Don’t let it annoy you. Bascombe is a paid Liverpool journalist for the the Telegraph. He hates City, but is totally obsessed by us. I read that article. It is both an absolute disgrace and embarrassment to the newspaper. Nothing else. The Telegraph really is just a combined United and Liverpool fanzine. However Bascombe is the worst by some considerable distance. Amateurish, biased and totally unprofessional. It just about sums up the state of the English football media today.
Don’t let silly, childish, nonsense written by no mark clickbait merchants get you down.

Football journalism has a toolbox of article templates or tropes and journalists basically just apply the one they think fits best.

It's not all the journalists' fault, you have to remember that they have to submit these match reports on the full time whistle, which means they mostly get written at half time and then edited during the second half as things happen.

There is no way for a football journalist to write a considered match report, so they just churn out chum for people who can't or didn't watch the game and need to fill time on their commutes the next morning.

At this point if you're getting annoyed by it, it's your own fault for caring what a match report says.

Yeah, this bell fruit was at the Liverpool Echo in the late 90s
He then left the Echo and went to work for one of Murdoch’s publications and got absolutely vilified for it from the Liverpool fans. So in an effort to try and worm his way back into their good books, every single article he writes these days is completely sycophantic and totally OTT about Liverpool. He is totally obsessed with City. I read one of his recent Liverpool match reports (I think it was against Luton) and he mentioned Manchester City no less than five times in the article. What’s all that about? He really is an embarrassment to himself.

Btw, Clive Tyldesley - still a ****
"Oh fuck off" is all I could say throughout his and Shearer's shite commentary. It's like a double whammy when you're getting frustrated in first 25 when City are playing well but not scoring, then the last 15 when we've gone shit and are losing. And throughout you have commentary from an Everton point of view, no respect for us or our achievements and shit like slagging off Jack when he is beinggoukd as if it is somehow his fault.

the bbc will never let the facts get in the way of a good story much like sky who said that united will be brimming with confidence after their comeback win against villa while not mentioning that the team they are facing came back to win 3-1 away from home at newcastle, its all just a way of placating morons and if anyone takes any notice of it they are either a masochist or a moron or both.
This..pandering to a certain section of football fans who’ll lap it up and be giddy as fuck over it..

According to that wankpuffin Huge Ferret on BBC Breakfast, we (at long last) have a title race for the first time in years, because of City's dominance.
Hang on ....
18/19.....last day of the season
21/22 ....last few minutes of the season
22/23......Arsenal's big lead for the majority of the season

Make a lie up, repeat it enough times, people will believe it
If only the Trafford Termites were involved ?
That would be the dream scenario with Wio, Scholesy and MO (moaning Micky) creaming their pants on the good old days returning.
It will be over a decade, this season Lads...

To be fair, I agree with much of what he said. We do pass the ball too much at times, much of it sideways and in front of opposing defences. Phil did take the game by the scruff of the neck and make us drive forward with more intent. Even Pep agreed that we won the game because we upped the tempo and got the ball around faster, much of that was Fodens doing. We have won everything by our passing game but sometimes when teams become wise to it we need other options to avoid being one dimensional. If you would have asked me are we winning the league after the first half, I'd say no chance. But after that second half, it's on.
