They missed the ‘depends who it’s on’ option. In this case, it’s an act of something nearly every other football fan enjoyed. Only shocking thing was that Gabriel didn’t go down holding his head like he does at least twice a game.

Pretty refreshing and balanced on us and the game, from Sutton esp and Smith to an extent (except when discussing Haaland throwing the ball when he felt it was a yellow, but the others dismissed/laughed it off). More than I expected anyway. Townsend still pushing the pro-arsenal lines though.

There's no way you can lay the blame at Walker's feet. The ref has called the captains over with the specific aim of telling them to calm their players down after constant handbags. In that situation, you should be allowing the captains to then go and share that message, as they do in rugby, or at least stopping the play until they were back in position. Walker passes the message on but is assuming the ref will wait until he's in position before letting play start, and he was right to assume the ref would do so. I'm certain the referee regrets allowing them to capitalise on that situation.

A very typical match at Maine Road, in that something regularly went "wrong".
Remember that post-match the crowd were fuming at the referee, though think that was influenced by the allowance for Wright & Bright to get away with a lot of their behaviour.
