Media discussion - 2024/25

Our dear friends at Football365 continue to wish Haaland away from the PL. desperate to link him to Barcelona. Their ignorance clearly extends to the financial peril that Barcelona are presently in. Barcelona couldn’t afford a week of Haalands wages let alone his fee.

My mates’ WhatsApp group contains three reds. One copied Rob Draper’s tweet which said something along the lines of having to be of limited intelligence to think it was a City win. So I posted Stefan’s response saying I’d sooner take his word than a know nowt hack. After he’d questioned Stefan’s credentials, even that he was not from Manchester oddly (I pointed out ex Manchester Grammar) he moved on to Mancini, gay
rights in AD, APT, FFP, P&S et al and he was schooled in every one. Thanks in no small way by the many knowledgeable posters on here.

At the end, after having no comebacks left, another red came on and said, he’s good isn’t he Mark!

I ended it all with a 14th gif! :).

The Torygraph reporting this morning that 'Rivals slam City over new revolt'(?) and we are accused of trying to run the PL. Well, the Dippers, Rags 'n the Arse have been running it since it's inception and look at the shite state it's in! They miss the whole point in trying to discredit the club. The point is that the rules governing APT which 'our rivals' have put in place are illegal, unfair and unreasonable! But that is exactly why they were put there so that certain clubs could maintain their status and prevent other clubs getting a foothold. The outpouring of fury under the guise of probity is laughable!

They should look for the best run club in PL and ask them to run the PL

No he didn’t, he didn’t say much to contribute at all but he came off with a few snippets that you see in the tabloids. Premier league won more points, oil money blah blah.

Stefans on cos he knows the subject, researched & qualified. Dale knew nothing.

The main prob with the media in this country is that in reality they arent even very good at reporting on football and that is supposed to be their bread and butter and now they are being asked to report on something so far outside of their comfort zone that you may as well ask them to explain quantum physics to a chimp (basically the same as explaining our charges to a rag) and they are failing miserably, every article reads like it was written with an accounting for dummies guidebook with a few big words thrown in for flavour and a resounding city are bad to keep the chimps onside. This whole thing is out of their realm of understanding and out of the realm of understanding of 95% of the people reading it so like a drowning person they cling onto the bits they understand and try to form their arguments based on the limited understanding they have and for them 2 + 2 = 4 and that will do and they refuse to believe the complexities of it because they dont understand them.

The majority of the media hold their readers with contempt. Their job is to create a narrative & spin a story, they are nothing more than a confidence trickster.
