All as I'm saying is Rashford will have probably earned a start,if the Sterling protectors think it's him who will be sacrificed then so be it,but Southgate constantly plays Sterling out of position for England anyway,usually in the middle,so should be no worries...................................

Sterling has been useless for England. I wouldn't play him if I was Southgate unless I was truly convinced that he was mentally strong enough to carry the hate.

This is not a judgement on Sterling the player but on the mentality of people in this country. A young sportsmen should feel support. Instead the overriding emotion is fear.

Rashford has a good shot on his right side. He also managed 7 goals and 5 assists.

Sterling has developed into a key player in the best football team I ever saw. Has the second most goals by an Englishman and the most assists in that league.
Can run with the ball at pace, makes intelligent and dangerous runs.Is strong ,passes well and Is a solid worker without the ball.

Yet Rashford should be first choice for England, though he rarely starts big games for his club.?

No I don't agree Rashford produces more, I think he does absolutely fuck all most of the time.

Look, Sterling hasn't been his best for England, everyone knows that, but he is a fucking top player. He has barely scored for England.

But Rashford, has done fuck all, either. But is getting huge praise for it & the encouragement to do better & is of course more likely to do so, under those circumstances. But he is nothing, so far.

So if your logic is correct even if that’s the reason rashford produces more surely you go with the player that does produce more? However the likes of Hoddle and the media have already decided who the pantomine villain is going to be this summer and its Sterling. Nothing he does positively receives any focus and as soon as he makes any mistakes they are pounced upon. Compare that to Rashford who repeatedly lost the ball last night and made bad decisions. However all the likes of Hoddle focussed on was the great goal he scored and how he should replace Sterling.

But the bit I cannot for the life of me work out is everything you are complaining at rashford doing sterling does, but is probably worse considering the season sterling has had and his apparent talents. So to put it correctly it wouldn’t really matter who we pick because both lose the ball loads? But Sterlings blind alley runs and bad decision making are ok because he’s a blue? No one can say what sterling does for England except look dangerous. That in itself speaks volumes
