You have stated in this thread that Sterling has to perform as he is England best players which is fine. I have tried to explain to you that the reason he has played so well is that the players he plays with at Man City are great players who when he makes runs find him and he scores or when he makes those runs and crosses into the box his teammates score.
So my question to you is if he continues to do those runs but is not found by his England colleagues and continues to make those same crosses but nobody is there to score them is the faults Sterling's or his England colleagues? I know what Hoddle would say as he said often enough "his final ball was poor" perhaps it might be that the other players aren't as good as Sergio
The blame cant be laid at everyone else's door but Sterlings though surely? If people aren't finishing chances created that is another story, if he doesn't find a man with a ball that cant be the receivers fault every time. If he balloons a chance over the bar because he lacks composure at times that isn't because KDB hasn't passed him the ball. There is a balance involved in it all, I may sway one way and many the other but there definitely is a middle ground to the discussion.

Putting his on field displays to one side.......Do you believe the media,in general, treat Sterling different to other footballers?
Absolutely, his treatment is miles different to everyone else and is something I would agree with 100%. I think because of this it is why many are protective and can see/say no wrong. The same way many believe Sterling can't win either way I think the same with the media. If there was a positive piece about him being Englands best player it is a set up to fail, if it isn't then it is more mistreatment.
